WINTER DISCOUNT: 15% OFF TUNE-UPS!
Classes are held in the Elevation Cyclery shop, located in the basement of the Round Barn at Sleepy Hollow Ski & Bike Center. After parking at Sleepy Hollow, walk up the path behind the electric-vehicle charging station toward the Round Barn — you will see the door to the shop.
Students should arrive on time, participate in class discussions, and ask lots of questions. Our classes are designed to be casual, flexible, and fun. We’re happy to dive deeper into any topics that interest the group.
Bike repair can be messy — wear old clothes that can get dirty (or even stained). Closed-toed shoes are required.
In winter, the shop is typically on the cooler side (around the low 60s), so wear a sweatshirt and bring layers you can add or remove.
Classes usually run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 or 5:00 PM, with a lunch break around noon. That said, times may vary depending on class pace or the amount of discussion — sometimes we’ll spend more time exploring additional or unplanned topics.
Kids ages 15 and up are welcome to register for the Home Bicycle Repair & Tune-Ups class as long as a parent or guardian also registers and attends with them.
For the Home Bicycle Repair and Tune-Ups, the max class size is 2 people. For the Intro to Wheel Building the class size is only 1.
Yes — there is a small refrigerator and microwave in the shop. You should also bring a water bottle. Coffee and tea will be available.
If you are taking the Home Bicycle Repair and Tune-Up class, please bring your bike. If you don’t have a bike, we can provide a demo mountain bike to work on.
