Class is in the Elevation Cyclery shop in the basement of the Round Barn at Sleepy Hollow Ski & Bike Center. After parking at Sleepy Hollow walk up the path behind the Electric Vehicle charging station toward the Round Barn. You will see the door to the shop.
Students are expected to be in class on time, engage in class discussions and to ask lots of questions. Our classes are designed to be casual, flexible and fun. We have no problem diving deeper into particular topics of interest to the class.
Bike repair can be a messy business. Wear old clothing that get dirty and stained. Closed toed shoes are also required.
The shop is cold in the winter, so a sweatshirt and even a couple layers is recommended.
Classes generally run from 8 to 5 with a lunch break around noon but can change due to the pace of class or time spent exploring additional/unplanned topics.
Yes, there is a small refrigerator in the shop and the microwaves in the Sleepy Hollow kitchen can be used.
A pad of paper/notebook and pen/pencil to take notes with.
A water bottle, snacks and lunch.
Yes, assuming the snow conditions allow you would be able to ski after class. Sleepy Hollow has several lighted trails and snowmaking. The lights are normally on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. Trail passes and rentals are available in the ski shop located in the lodge.
